They're the layer that keeps a mixed border interesting — fresh growth in spring, blooms through summer, and a final blast of red, orange, or burgundy before they go dormant.

When do deciduous shrubs leaf out?

Most break dormancy in early to mid spring as soil temperatures climb. Some — like forsythia — bloom on bare wood before the leaves even appear.

Do deciduous shrubs bloom every year?

Yes, as long as they're pruned at the right time. Pruning at the wrong moment can remove the buds for next year's flowers, so always check when each variety sets its buds.

How big do deciduous shrubs get?

There's a huge range — compact spireas stay around 2–3 feet, while viburnums and hydrangeas can reach 6–8 feet or more. Mature size is listed on every product page.

  • Where do you ship from, and how fast?

    Orders ship from our facility in York, SC via USPS or FedEx to all 48 contiguous states. Most orders leave within 3–5 business days, with an additional 2–5 days in transit.

  • How are plants packaged for safe transit?

    Each plant is secured in its pot, the root ball is stabilized, and the container is braced inside a corrugated shipping box to keep it upright. Larger trees ship in custom crating.

  • What happens if a plant arrives damaged?

    We back every order with a 30-day plant guarantee. If a plant arrives damaged or doesn't establish within 30 days, we replace it at no cost — just send a photo and your order number to info@livegoodlogistics.com.

  • Can I request a plant that isn't in the catalog?

    Possibly. Our nursery network covers a wide range of species and sizes. Reach out with what you're looking for and we'll see if we can source it.

  • Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or internationally?

    We ship to all 48 contiguous states. Due to agricultural shipping restrictions, we don't ship to Alaska or Hawaii, and we don't offer international shipping at this time.

  • How do I track my order?

    As soon as your order ships, you'll receive an email with tracking information. You can also log in to your account to see order status and history.
