About Holiday Decor

Nothing says the holidays like a living plant. Artificial greenery can't compete with the real thing — the resinous scent of a fresh-cut fir, the deep red bracts of a poinsettia catching the light, a wreath of fragrant cedar on the front door. This collection brings together the seasonal plants and greenery that turn a house into a holiday home, from living Christmas trees you can plant out afterward to centerpieces that last well past New Year's.

Choose living, and the season lasts longer. A potted living Christmas tree gives you the classic tree without the needle drop, and replants into the yard come spring. Poinsettias, amaryllis, paperwhites, Christmas cactus, and fresh-cut wreaths and garlands each bring their own color, fragrance, and texture — mix a few and you've decorated the whole house with plants that are actually alive.

What's in this collection

Living and fresh-cut evergreens — firs, spruces, pines, and cedar greenery — alongside the indoor stars of the season: poinsettias in classic red and newer pinks and whites, blooming amaryllis, fragrant paperwhites, and Christmas cactus that flowers right on cue. You'll find finished pieces ready to display and plants ready to grow, in a range of sizes for a tabletop or a grand entryway.

Care is simple while they shine. Keep living trees and blooming plants in bright, indirect light, away from heat vents and drafts, and water when the top of the soil feels dry — poinsettias especially dislike soggy roots. Fresh-cut greenery stays lush longest somewhere cool, with the occasional misting.

Shipped to arrive holiday-ready. Every plant and piece of greenery is grown in our nursery network, inspected, and hand-packed in protective, season-aware packaging so it shows up fresh and full — and we honor the state-by-state agricultural rules that govern where live plants and greenery can ship.

Common questions

  • Can I plant a living Christmas tree outside after the holidays?

Yes — that's the beauty of a living tree. Keep it indoors no more than about ten days so it doesn't break dormancy, then move it to a sheltered spot to acclimate before planting it in the ground once the soil is workable. Pick a permanent location with room for the tree to reach its full size.

  • How long do poinsettias last?

With good care, a poinsettia stays colorful for several weeks to a couple of months. Give it bright indirect light, keep it away from cold drafts and hot vents, and water only when the soil surface dries. The colored 'petals' are actually long-lasting bracts, which is why they hold their show so long.

  • How do I keep a fresh-cut wreath or garland from drying out?

Cool and humid is the secret. Keep cut greenery away from direct heat and sun, mist it every few days, and if it's a wreath you can occasionally take it down and soak the back. A spot by a north-facing door or an unheated porch will keep it fresh well into the new year.

  • Are these plants safe around pets?

Some seasonal plants can cause stomach upset if chewed — poinsettia, amaryllis, and Christmas cactus among them — so it's smart to display them up out of a curious pet's reach. Fresh evergreen trees and wreaths are best kept out of nibbling range too. When in doubt, place festive plants where paws and noses can't get to them.

  • Which states can holiday greenery and living trees ship to?

Live plants and fresh greenery carry agricultural shipping restrictions that vary by state. Those rules are built into fulfillment, so trees, wreaths, and seasonal plants are only sent where they're allowed to arrive.
