How to Use MitoGrow™ When Planting Trees & Shrubs
- 1. Dig the hole: Make it 2–3× wider than the root ball, same depth. Loosen surrounding soil so roots can spread easily.
- 2. Prep the plant: Gently loosen circling roots. If rootbound, make a few vertical cuts to encourage outward growth.
- 3. Position correctly: Set the plant so the top of the root ball is level with or slightly above ground. Do not bury the trunk flare.
- 4. Backfill soil: Use native soil. Firm lightly—don’t compact hard.
- 5. Water with MitoGrow™: Mix according to label. Slowly soak the root zone until soil is evenly moist (not muddy). This is critical—water deeply to remove air pockets.
- 6. Mulch: Add 2–3 inches around the base, keeping it a few inches away from the trunk.
Ongoing Care
- Watering: For the first 2–4 weeks, water deeply 2–3 times per week. After that, reduce to once weekly depending on weather. Always soak deeply rather than frequent shallow watering.
- Using MitoGrow™: Reapply during stress (heat, transplanting, storms) or every 4–6 weeks during the growing season to support root development and recovery.
- Fertilizing: Avoid heavy fertilizer at planting. Wait until new growth appears, then feed lightly if needed.
- Monitoring: Watch for wilting or yellowing—adjust watering first before adding more products.
Container Planting (Patio)
- Use a pot with drainage holes.
- Fill with quality potting mix (not garden soil).
- Water with MitoGrow™ after planting and keep soil consistently moist, not soggy.
- Containers dry faster—check daily in warm weather.
Use MitoGrow™ at planting, after transplanting, and anytime your plant needs recovery or a growth boost.
