Jelly Bean® is a compact blueberry that grows about 2–3 feet tall, making it ideal for small gardens and containers. It produces sweet berries in summer and has attractive red fall foliage.

• Sun: Plant in full sun (6–8+ hours daily).
• Soil: Use well-drained, acidic soil with a pH of 4.5–5.5. Mix in peat moss or pine bark if needed.
• Planting: Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and the same depth. Set the plant so the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Backfill, firm gently, and apply 2–3 inches of pine bark or pine needle mulch, keeping it away from the stem.
• Watering: Water deeply immediately after planting. For the first month, keep the soil consistently moist by watering 2–3 times per week if it doesn't rain. After establishment, provide about 1–2 inches of water per week. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely.
• Fertilizer: Wait until new growth begins, then feed with a fertilizer formulated for acid-loving plants according to the label. Fertilize again in late spring if needed. Avoid overfertilizing.
• Pollination: Jelly Bean® is self-fertile, but planting another blueberry variety nearby will usually increase berry size and yield.
• Harvest: Pick berries when they are fully blue and come off easily with a gentle touch. They will continue ripening over several weeks.
• Container Growing: Use a pot at least 18–24 inches wide with drainage holes. Fill with an acidic potting mix, water more frequently than in-ground plants, and refresh mulch annually.
