And it's ideal for all skill levels, whether you're new to monotubs or a seasoned grower.

Each kit includes:

 • 1 Automated Boomr Bin Kit
 • 1 Lion's Mane Fruiting Block
 • 1 Blue Oyster Fruiting Block

Our beginner-friendly Automated Boomr Bin Mushroom Monotub makes mushroom growing easy. Created by mycologists, its patent-pending design is optimized for all growers. It features a recessed base for stacking multiple monotubs and extra large latches with recessed grips for easy lifting and transport. Plus, it's also made with food-grade materials that are FDA-approved for contact with consumables.

Fruiting block kits

Our mushroom fruiting block kits are fully colonized and ready to grow. Each block measures ~9x6x6 inches and weighs ~5lbs.

Lion's Mane

This fruiting block contains a strain that produces plump, dense, shaggy mushroom clusters. Lion's mane mushrooms are highly versatile and can be enjoyed cooked, dried, extracted, or even steeped as tea! In addition to making an amazing meat substitute, it is an absolute culinary dream both in texture and flavor. That's because, when cooked, it has a consistency and flavor similar to crab meat.

Blue Oyster

Our blue oyster block is a fast substrate colonizer with a strong bluish-gray hue. It produces richly umami mushrooms with a soft, meaty texture that pairs well with most dishes. Oysters are very reliable producers and tend to yield large flushes of mushrooms. They are also one of the easiest blocks to get subsequent fruitings from and should reliably produce a second flush or more.

Planting Directions

How to Grow Lion's Mane & Blue Oyster Mushrooms in the Automated Boomr Bin

This guide walks you through setting up and maintaining your fruiting blocks in the Boomr Bin system for best quality and yield.

1. Setup Instructions

Place your Automated Boomr Bin on a level surface in a room between 60–75°F.

Plug in the unit and follow manufacturer instructions to set humidity to 85–95% and ensure airflow is active for fresh air exchange (FAE).

Do not expose the bin to direct sunlight. Use indirect light or a small grow light on a 12-hour cycle.

2. Preparing the Fruiting Blocks

Remove each fruiting block from its shipping box, but DO NOT take it out of the filter bag.

Cut a 2–3 inch X-shaped slit in the plastic where you want mushrooms to grow—ideally on the side facing airflow inside the bin.

Mist the slit area lightly with distilled or filtered water. Avoid soaking.

3. Placing in the Boomr Bin

Place the blocks inside the Boomr Bin with the cut side facing outward.

Ensure the blocks are spaced for airflow between them (at least 2 inches apart).

4. Ongoing Care

Mist daily around the slits if the humidity dips, but don't oversaturate.

Maintain good FAE to prevent CO2 buildup—important for preventing deformed mushrooms.

Fruiting starts within 5–10 days. Harvest when caps are full and before they flatten or curl.

5. Second Flush

After harvesting, let the block rest for 3–5 days.

Repeat misting and environmental steps to encourage a second flush.

Enjoy fresh mushrooms within 2 weeks!

How does the Automated Boomr Bin improve mushroom growing?
The Boomr Bin automates key environmental controls—humidity, CO2 levels, fresh air exchange, and filtration—creating ideal fruiting conditions with minimal guesswork. This means larger, healthier mushrooms with less hands-on effort.

2. Is this kit beginner-friendly?
Yes, it’s designed for all experience levels. The plug-and-play setup, combined with fully colonized fruiting blocks, makes it easy for first-timers while still offering reliable results for more advanced growers.

3. What makes the Lion’s Mane and Blue Oyster blocks special?
Both blocks are fully colonized and ready to fruit.
