Protect Against Unwanted Contamination
These high airflow, ultra-thin filters give your substrate and mycelium fresh air while maintaining high humidity levels. Manufactured with a strong adhesive backing, these filters are made from PTFE membrane material and sized to fit over 1" holes. Filters are slightly larger than monotub holes and are designed to keep out foreign spores and other contaminants. Use them in place of polyfill for time savings, fast application, and better protection against unwanted contamination.
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) membranes have a filtration rate of 99.97% and can filter 0.3 μm.

FAQs

FAQs: 1" Adhesive Monotub PTFE Membrane Disc Filters

1. What are PTFE membrane disc filters used for in mushroom cultivation?
These filters are used in monotubs to allow fresh air exchange while maintaining high humidity and keeping out contaminants like spores and dust. They replace polyfill, offering a more efficient and reliable way to protect your grow environment.

2. How do these filters stick to the tub?
Each disc comes with a strong adhesive backing, making them easy to apply directly over 1" holes on your monotub. No additional tape or tools are needed—just peel and stick.

3. Can these be reused, or are they single-use?
These filters are designed for single-use, especially in sterile environments. Reusing them may reduce their effectiveness and increase the risk of contamination.

4. Do they block airflow or dry out the substrate?
Not at all. These are high airflow filters—ultra-thin but effective. They support proper gas exchange without drying out your substrate, helping your mycelium thrive.

5. What are the advantages over polyfill?
PTFE filters save time on setup, stick securely without fuss, and offer better contamination control. They’re a cleaner, more professional option—especially for cultivators who want consistent results.
